Tai Chi and Chi Kung beginners
Your Course
Chi Kung and Tai Chi are traditional practices involving movement and regulated breathing designed to benefit health through stress reduction and exercise. They provide a safe and effective form of exercise suitable for all ages. Emphasis is placed on increasing the awareness of one's own body and the free flow of Chi, or bio-energy, present in all living things, around the body.
L'Art du Chi is a modern method for teaching the subtle body art of Tai Chi. The method was developed over sixty years by Vlady Stevanovitch, a renowned Master of Chi and founder of the international Ecole de la Voie Interiere (Methode Stevanovitch) or Inner Way School.
L'Art du Chi lessons combine Chi work and the study of the postures and forms of Chi Kung and Tai Chi. The Chi sessions focus on the internal work of relaxation through postural and breathing exercises and centering oneself by locating and learning how to use the Tai Tien (the body's physical and energetic centre). The student then gradually integrates the Chi work into the Chi Kung and Tai Chi sequence.
You will need to wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a warm blanket or similar covering for the relaxation. If you have one, please bring your meditation bench or cushion (these can be provided)
