Are you teaching 14-16 year olds in post 16 centres?
If you are, this is a great course for you. It is designed specifically for those people who possess or are working towards a recognised post 16 teaching qualification but are also teaching 14-16 year olds.

The qualification consists of 3 units and seeks to provide:

• Opportunities to Share and Reflect on Good Practice
• The Chance to Develop Strategies and Delivery Methods
• Strategies for Motivating This Age Group and Managing Challenging Behaviour
• An Understanding of Key Legal and Health and Safety Issues
• A Chance to Widen Understanding of School Structure, including National Curriculum

What level is it?
Level 4

When will I attend?
First Monday 10.00am - 3.00pm
Subsequently Monday 4.00pm - 7.00pm for approximately 9 sessions (Dates to be confirmed)

How will I be assessed?

• A completed portfolio
• 2 observed 14-16 teaching sessions, the first may be carried out by a critical friend
• Completed work will be assessed and moderated according to BTEC requirements

What do I need?
Candidates should possess (or be currently completing) a teaching qualification of at least 730 level and be teaching 14-16 year olds
Centres must be willing to release staff for the programme and for 2 days secondment
