About this course

It is important to note that all KliC projects are real, all are meeting a real need for a charity or community group. These are NOT instant makeovers, and as such, we emphasise the importance of the process! There is no race to the finish, the focus is on doing the job properly and to a high standard, which not only benefits the charity by ensuring a good end result, but also those taking part.

Team Building/Learning and Development

KliC 4 Training provides charity projects for corporate learning and development purposes, with the aim of benefiting both the participants and the community. Our aim is to match the company with an appropriate charity or community project that will meet its corporate aims and needs of its staff, whilst meeting CSR objectives. Each project is tailored to meet the needs of the group and be geared to different levels of ability and fitness. Opportunities for reflection, feedback and review are an integral part of the programme and delegates will be encouraged to discuss the links between their pofessional needs, company objectives and the practical activities in which they take part.

The hallmark of every project is that it should be practical, experiential and result in a positive, physical improvement to the surroundings, the environment , the charity or the community. Projects will usually involve a degree of physical work but can also be designed in such a way as to utilise 'higher order' management skills too, such as planning, negotiating, budgeting, reviewing and evaluation. The degree of project complexity will be matched carefully to the client's training aims and objectives, but can range from a basic team build, to a more focussed learning and development programme.

At its most popular entry level, KliC 4 Training provides 'Team Building with a Difference'. These lightly facilitated, charity or community days, are simply structured with the project as the main focus, and with the emphasis on 'fun', but with a variety of different team building exercises woven into the day to ensure that participants go away having learned something positive that they can take back to the workplace. At KliC 4 Training, we believe passionately in the simple concept of 'learning through doing - and making a difference.'

CSR is increasingly part of core business strategy, where companies are recognising the genuine bottom line benefits for their shareholders that closer links with the community can deliver. KliC 4 Training helps businesses to extend and develop their Corporate Social Responsibility profile within their communities. Businesses also get powerful training and development opportunities for their staff resulting in a real community benefit. Companies participating in a community based project will not only have a unique training experience, but will also be making a vital contribution towards ensuring their social, ethical and environmental accountability. There is powerful evidence that a strong track record in social responsibility helps attract and retain the best people in a competitive jobs market.

The KliC 4 Training charity portfolio is wide ranging, and we currently work with charities covering themes such as:

Environment and Conservation; Disability; Education and Training; Young People; Youth Disaffection; Heritage Restoration; Families; Sport; Homelessness.
