Description
The Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading aims to give practising or potential team leaders the foundation for their formal development in this role. It is also appropriate for participants working from inside teams, who may not be specifically designated as team leaders, but who have some responsibility for the groups outputs. The programme content covers the Knowledge Requirements of the Level 2 S/NVQ in Team Leading, and the assessments may provide evidence towards a portfolio for this qualification.
The programme has two primary objectives:
to assist participants in gaining the basic knowledge required by a team leader
to develop basic team leading skills
Course Length
What will I study?
The course is structured over twenty two weeks, divided into three hour sessions. The first session forms the course induction. The twenty segments which make up the course content are taken over the next twenty sessions. Assessment and associated tutorial support take place in the final week.

Requirement
Participants will normally be either practising or aspiring team leaders. There are no formal educational requirements, but learners should have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme. This is likely to be Level 1 Key Skills Literacy and Numeracy, or equivalent. Candidates may use the transcript provided by the ILM at the conclusion of an Introductory Certificate in Team Leading as evidence to claim exemption from study for the named segments. There is some exemption from the Knowledge Assessment element of the full assessment requirements for the Certificate in Team Leading on a segment by segment basis only.
