Team Leading Intermediate Apprenticeship

This course is designed to give you the relevant training and education required to work within a team environment. Learning through work experience with an employer and training in order to achieve a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Team Leading.

Course Content

Learners need to complete all mandatory units to a total of ten credits. To achieve the qualification a minimum of 17 credits is required. Units cover the following topics:

Manage Personal Development

Develop Working Relationships with Colleagues

Communicate Information and Knowledge

CMI Certificate in Team Leading. Units include:

Personal Development as a Team Leader

Controlling Resources

Building Work Relationships

As part of the Apprenticeship framework you will also study Personal Learning and Thinking Skills, Employment Rights and Responsibilities, and Functional Skills Level 1 in English, maths and ICT.

What are the entry requirements?

Functional Skills Level 1, or 3 GCSEs (grades A* – C) including English and maths. ICT is also desirable. You are required to be employed in a suitable role, providing the required experience to gain the qualifications for your NVQ. You will be required to attend an interview with the Work Based Learning team and be asked to complete basic skills assessments in literacy and numeracy. You will need to be committed to your study and responsible for your own learning.

What can I do next?

Career pathways may include progression to roles such as assistant manager, trainee manager or senior supervisor or possible progression to a level 3 qualification.

Considering an apprenticeship?
Many young people look to an apprenticeship to gain valuable skills directly in the workplace.
You can apply for both an apprenticeship, and a full-time course as your back up,
but note that you will need to do some research to find an employer willing to take you on as an apprentice
if you do not already have one.

ensuring you complete section 4 of the form. In order to start your apprenticeship you must have an employer
ready to complete your apprenticeship with.
