Why should I come to Pendleton College?
The Performing Arts department is a dynamic and rapidly-expanding aspect of the college offering students the chance to study Theatre, Music and Dance. The tutors have an enormous quantity of industry experience preparing students for further study in Higher Education or Drama School and a career in the entertainment industry. The department offers students a rich programme of extra-curricular activity with the chance to participate in the Pendleton Season of plays and musicals, Caf? Theatre Trips and an exchange programme with the U.S.A. The department has gained a reputation as an exciting place to study. The Eccleston Theatre is possibly the best-equipped college theatre in the area. This year we are offering several challenging, varied and enjoyable new courses to take you to the next step towards achieving your dreams.

What will I study?
This course is ideally suited to students who wish to pursue a career in the Performing Art Industries as a technician and is an excellent introduction to basic stagecraft, theatre lighting and sound. Units studied will include:

What will I achieve?
The equivalent of two A-Levels with the opportunity to apply for university or drama school. A good grounding in technical theatre plus the inevitable growth in personal confidence and communication skills necessary for any career.

How is the course assessed?
Students study 12 units over the two years that are continually assessed and moderated. The course is predominantly practical but you will be expected to present evidence of your course work that may be in the form of a log, video or sound recording.

What else will I do?
You will be able to take part in many enrichment activities to develop your interest and training further. You will help in the production of the Pendleton Season, enabling you to gain hands-on working experience in many aspects of stage management. You will be part of the Pendleton Theatre Company, a very exciting team!
