Course Aims:
The aim of the course is to introduce students to textile techniques as specific to jewellery. Students will learn to translate their own ideas through research and drawing into individual pieces of jewellery.
Course Content:
Your tutor will guide you through appropriate textile techniques including machine embroidery, felt making, knitting and textile bead work. The initial few weeks of the course will comprise of a series of workshops giving students the tools to take ideas forward to final designs. The design process and creative development will be emphasised to enable each student to create exciting and innovative work.

There are a variety of textile and art and design courses across the Faculty.

Exam:
There is no exam but each student will be expected to keep a folder for handout sheets, research and student planning and preparation for their project work. Assessment is informal and ongoing. Students will produce a portfolio of work showing completion and evidence of three mandatory units which are assessed by the tutor and verified by an external NCFE moderator.

Level 1 Certificate in Creative Craft (Textile Jewellery).
