Learn how to integrate Thai yoga massage techniques into your existing couch-massage practice.
This two day course will teach you how to give a couch massage with dynamic, flowing movements using joint manipulation, stretching, compression work and Thai acupressure.
You’ll learn how to use your body-weight and body positioning to apply deeper, more effective pressure without straining your hands, thumbs and wrists.
It’s a great way to bring variety into your work and to alleviate the repetitive movements of a traditional, Western, massage treatment.

Course programme
Course review:
A short two-day course to bring Thai yoga massage skills to the couch, specifically the wonderful techniques of Thai yoga massage sretches. Can be used as a treatment on its own, or in conjuction with other forms of massage. This course is suitable for all massage practitioners.
The course will include an introduction to the history of Thai yoga massage and the theory behind this ancient form of therapy. The tradition of Thai yoga massage is based on the healing benefits of working energy-lines through acupressure, stretches and joint mobilisation. The floor-based stretches typical of a traditional Thai yoga massage treatment are adjusted so that they can be applied on the couch.
This course is particularly good for those therapists who would like to incorporate more stretching into their massage treatments without having to invest in new equipment. It is also suitable for those practitioners who find moving around on the floor to be difficult or uncomfortable and so are not interested in doing a full Thai yoga massage course (floor-based).
This two-day course will teach techniques and moves for a client resting in the supine and prone positions. There is a further advanced (one-day) course for the side-lying position which can be taken a week later alongside a deep tissue massage course (one-day).
