Is this course for me?
This course is suitable for those who want to study for a career
as a stage manager and progress to drama school to study stage
management. The course is also suitable for those interested in
scenic arts, lighting design, production management or theatre.
What will I study?
This course teaches stage management through working in

College. You will explore the context and history of theatre as

What can I do next?
This can lead to further study at drama school or university.
Lewisham College has an excellent reputation in courses at this
level and our students have progressed on to Rose Bruford, Central,
RADA, East 15 and Guildhall School of Speech and Drama. Many
students find work in theatre whilst studying at Lewisham College.
This course can also lead to many areas of employment including
arts administration.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to attend an interview and take an aptitude test.
Depending upon experience and interest, there is some flexibility
over entry requirements.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment includes assignments that centre on performances,
class work, group work, oral presentations, projects, and formal
examinations. Students also have regular meetings with a personal
tutor to discuss progress and to help plan studies. Additional
support, help and guidance is available from the Guidance Team or
from our Study Buddies (a network of students offering help to
those with problems learning).
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
