THEOLOGY

Why should I come to Pendleton College?
Theology is a popular and successful subject. Students have the opportunity to study controversial issues like abortion, euthanasia, embryo research, war, peace and environmental ethics.

What will I study?
The course runs across AS and A2 levels & will involve the study of one or two religions across one or two of the following areas:
  • Philosophy of Religion
  • Religious Ethics
  • Textual studies
  • History of Religious Tradition(s)

What will I achieve?
Career opportunities include: social work, teaching, civil service, legal profession and journalism.

How is the course assessed?
Assessment is via homework assignments and three exams. There is the option of submitting two extended essays in place of one exam.

What else will I do?
Where possible, visiting speakers will be invited to talk to groups about their particular field of expertise.
