This is one day course run by Mathew Dimbleby who is a trained potter with a degree in ceramics and a PGCE teaching qualification.

About this course
The course aims are clay preparation, centring clay on the wheel, throwing cylinders and basic forms.
Beginners who want to learn the basic of throwing.
No knowledge required, however any current knowledge will be built on where applicable. Please inform me prior to attending the course of prior learning and we can discuss how you can get the most out of the day.
No qualifications are required by attendees to this course. The aim is to give understanding and skills on the potters wheel in a enjoyable and informative way.
The course is tutored on a one to one basis but you do have the option to bring a friend along if you prefer. If the course is being shared you will need to share the wheel throughout the day. The course is run in our own studio. Please remember to bring a sturdy box or plastic box to take any items that you wish to keep from the day away with you. We will glaze and fire one item of your choice this will be posted out at the relevant postal cost. Please remember to bring a packed lunch. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
We will book you in on a day that is available and that you can attend.
No prior knowledge or skills are required, although any prior knowledge will be discussed so that you can get the most out of the day.

I have given lecturers at Universities on ceramics and business. I have also worked as an Education Manager I am also currently the business owner oif Dimbleby Ceramics I have a Degree in Design and Ceramics I also have a PGCE teaching qualification
