Time Management

Introduction
Poor use of time creates a range of problems - under performance, job dissatisfaction, work overload and stress. However, there are many benefits to good time management. One of the first steps in this workshop is to help delegates understand that time management is impossible. It's about how we manage ourselves and others at work, and the degree to which we take ownership of time thieves, particularly if they imposed by other people. Influencing plays a role in this workshop by encouraging the delegates to reduce blaming others and think about how they can influence, to get more of what they want.(

))We cover how to build time management techniques into daily work routines so that time management problems can be recognised and tackled, staying in control of your working day.

The result ?The working day will be less stressful, more productive and much more satisfying.(

)Type of Training Course
In - house at your premises for up to 10 delegates. We travel nationwide.

Duration
1 day, typically 9.30am to 4.45pm but can be flexible to fit into shift patterns of staff.

Key Objectives
At the end of the time management training course, delegates will be able to:

· Understand the real meaning of time management

· Appreciate the consequences of being a poor time manager.

· Understand a structured approach towards planning their time.

· Recall the 2 criteria to apply when prioritising work.

· Understand the application of the 5 Choices when considering tasks

· Apply a structured process to deciding and prioritising key activities

· Recall the 6 golden rules of planning tools

· Use assertiveness to negotiate time deadlines / quality of work, or to deal with jobs that aren't necessarily theirs.

· Understand the 'time robbers' in their work and appreciate a range of tips and tactics to deal with them.(

)We can tailor the key objectives to your specific needs.

Training Course Overview:
· The time management training course combines the 'training in' of a range of planning and organising models, with some opportunities to practice the models in the 'safe' training environment.

·A variety of training methods are used, including group discussion, self-diagnostic questionnaire, syndicate work and skill practice.

· A feature of the time management training course is the use of a Knowledge/Skill Checklist - a list of the knowledge and skills being developed. Delegates rate themselves at the start and finish of the training course to establish the extent to which they have benefited from the event. This also gives the delegate, and their line manager, an analysis of their strengths, highlighting any further development needs.

· A mini exhibition of interpersonal skill books, additional handouts and 'hints and tips' sheets will be provided in the training room, for delegates to visit during breaks.

· Delegates will be supplied with full support documentation, supplied in spiral bound format.

· In the second part of the day, delegates focus on the specific time robbers they are faced with, whether they are self imposed or Imposed by others, and discuss ways of reducing or even eliminating the robbers. Feedback from the exercise is typed up and sent back to the delegates post-workshop to assist with action planning. Please email us for a sample of time robber solutions from previous workshops.

· Prior to delivery of the time management training course, we would host a telephone meeting with you to establish the nature of the delegate's roles, their strengths and development areas and any areas of the course you would like us to emphasise.((
