How will I learn?
You will be assessed by a unique combination, specifically formulated for each module. The essence of the assessment for this foundation degree is to ensure appropriateness of learning and realistic practices.
You will be studying in the English Rivera where a strong event and conference industry is established, the course maximises links with industry partners. Each module has its own unique delivery and assessment configuration, which best complements the learning requirements. You will undertake a variety of local, regional and international visits linked to the curriculum. Previous overseas trips have included Venice, Rome, Paris, Reims, Epanay while we also go to London every year where we visit a number of different establishments. Guest speakers have included the Tourism Promotions Minister for Malaysia and European Members of Parliament.
What else might I want to know?
All students undertake a work placement in-between Years One and Two. This 10 week placement is designed to enable students to apply their learning from Year One in a practical context. In the past students have undertaken placements all over the world and this is an excellent opportunity to gain very realistic experience within a chosen industry sector.
What can I do afterwards?
Successfully achieving the foundation degree provides guaranteed progression on to the final year of a related honours degree at the University of Plymouth.
