Hear from one of our students about studying Tourism at Liverpool Hope.
Tourism is the world’s largest industry, worth over $3trillion annually worldwide, and has become one of its biggest sources of employment.
There is no better city in which to study Tourism than Liverpool. During Liverpool’s year as the European Capital of Culture in 2008 over 14 million tourists visited the city, generating over £800 million and creating approximately 15,000 new jobs. The legacy of Capital of Culture sees Liverpool’s continuing development of new arts, heritage, and cultural attractions, retail developments and luxury hotels. As a result, there is a need for highly qualified graduates in Tourism.
The Tourism programme will look at Tourism from both management and academic perspectives. It looks at issues such as the structure of the tourism industry; impacts of tourism on people and the environment; the emergence of new forms of tourism to rival the package holiday; tourism destination management; global tourism development and events management.
This degree course is taught by a small and friendly team of tutors with a wide range of practical and academic experience of Tourism. Tutors take pride in being available to students and offering a high level of support that isn’t always found at larger universities. For this reason, Tourism at Liverpool Hope scores highly in the National Student Survey.
