This course has been designed and developed to provide delegates with the necessary skills and techniques to become effective technical/process trainers.
It covers on the job training and how to train people who are conducting technical and process driven tasks. You will learn how to structure on the job training plans, take people factors and job design in to consideration, motivation and getting the best out your people during the training process. The course will look at training plans, mapping and provide step-by-step techniques to improve the training experience and minimise repeat effort.
The course is practical, hands-on and is ideal for those involved in training people in technical/process driven tasks, whether these are IT or complex roles.
At the end of the course, you will feel confident in training staff in manual, complex or technical driven tasks.

About this course
This course is for anyone who needs to train others in the workplace. This could include Managers, Supervisory, Technical personnel with responsibilities to provide instruction/ on-the-job training.

John holds a MA in Human Resource Development, is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI), Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management (FInstLM), Incorporated Engineer and Member of the Institution of Engineering Technology (IEng MIET). He is a qualified Executive Coach and Leadership Mentor, and Member of the Association for Coaching (MAC), as well as a qualified Psychometric and Occupational Assessor. He has held senior management positions gained in Consultancy, SMEs and FTSE 100 companies, within a diverse array of industries.

* Why people learn: understanding learning and motivation theories in development context
* Instruction v direct delivery- Applying effective communication skills- Questions (structure for getting results)- Listening
* Use of visual aids and other training material to aid instruction
[Day 1 is interspersed with highly interactive and engaging exercises, practical examples and relevant videos.]
Day 2 - Changing complex tasks into simple instructions
* How to change complex task into simple instructions* Structuring the training delivery e.g. three-step process of training delivery
* Development of process/technical training plans and maps
* Delivery of practical process/technical session (conducted on the course by the individual delegates) - [Tutor Led - with direct feedback]
* Giving powerful feedback to increase performance - practical examples
* Follow-up requirements and next steps
[Day 2 is highly practical with 1-2-1 facilitated feedback given throughout]
