Transactional Analysis - a distance learning course by BSY Studying Transactional Analysis (TA) you will discover that in its theoretical form it describes how an individual's psyche is structured. Its most commonly known model is the ego state (Parent-Adult-Child) model. It is mistakenly thought that TA can only be used in relationship or parent/child contexts. Conversely the TA model endeavours to explain how individuals function and convey personality and behaviour characteristics. Transactional Analysis is now widely utilised across diverse situations and is also a stand-alone as well as integrated into therapeutic approaches. Transactional Analysis can be applied in many contexts including organisational settings and child development or educational contexts. Additionally it is a practical therapeutic tool for the diagnosis of a range of psychological disorders, offering a method of therapeutic intervention, an example being to release individuals from negative patterns of behaviour or thought.
