Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air & Sea Training Course
Course Objectives
This course is designed to cover both aspects of the Transportation of
Dangerous Goods by Air and Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Sea courses.
The aim is to enable personnel to recognise the classes of dangerous
goods and to
pack, mark and label items correctly. Delegates will also be able to
understand and use the International Air Transport Association (IATA)
and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) codes correctly. The
course is CAA approved and
the certificate is valid for 2 years. The course combines the three day Transportation
of Dangerous Goods by Air course
with the two day Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Sea course, and
includes practical exercises involving the use of IATA codes as well as
a written examination, approved by the Civil Aviation Authority. The
minimum pass mark for
this course is set at 85% for the Sea Exam and 85% for the Air Exam.
AIR: The CAA Approved Certificate is valid for 2 years. The Revalidation
course is of a two day duration.
SEA: It is recommended that any delegate who undertakes a Transportation
of Dangerous Goods by Sea course renews their certificate every 2-3
years. The Refresher course is of a two day duration.
