Why should I come to Pendleton College?
The 12 unit BTEC National Certificate provides a specialist work-related programme of study that covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in either the travel or tourism industries. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you need to start or progress in a career in the travel and tourism industries. The course also provides a progression route to higher education vocational qualifications such as Higher Nationals in Travel and Tourism or a degree in Travel and Tourism or associated subjects.

What will I achieve?
The equivalent to two A-Levels, graded Pass, Merit or Distinction which means you can choose whether to get a job straight away or go into Higher Education.
How is the course assessed?
There are no exams; you are assessed by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The BTEC National Certificate is a practical, work-related course.
What else will I do?
You will have the opportunity to participate in a range of trips and excursions to support your study, including a residential visit. You also have the opportunity to study an additional vocational qualification such as NCFE Cabin Crew, giving you practical experience and a guaranteed interview with an airline at the end of your course. In addition to your well-qualified tutors, a range of quest speakers from industry will come in during your course and tell you what it's really like!
