Our dynamic Travel and Tourism department offers students the opportunity to study a range of units related to the Travel and Tourism industry and allow them to explore various avenues of work within this industry. Students will gain skills that can be applied to the workplace or further study. The course is particularly suited to those students who enjoy both written and practical coursework and who are looking to progress to a level 3 course or progress to employment

Course programme
How will I study?
You will study eight units covering different sectors of travel and tourism, these are: Customer Service in Travel and Tourism, The UK Travel and Tourism Industry, Travel and Tourism Destinations, UK Purpose Built Visitor Attractions, Hospitality in Travel and Tourism, Know About Airports and Airlines, Career Planning for Travel and Tourism and Work Experience in Travel and Tourism.
How will I be taught?
Case studies, group and individual activities and practical exercises. Lessons will be engaging and full of useful information and learning opportunities. Study of GCSE English and Maths to gain a C grade will also be required as well as mandatory work experience in travel and tourism.
How will I be assessed?
All units will be graded with Pass, Merit or Distinction and will be assessed in a variety of ways such as written assignments, practical roles plays, worksheets and blogs. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
