Course description For those with a taste for the exciting world of travel and tourism, keen to explore their options; This interesting course will give you an insight into different elements of the travel and tourism industry. Many of the teaching staff have worked in the industry which ensures the course content is current. You'll be involved in assignment work, group discussions, presentations, practical activities and examinations., , The units you will be studying are designed to help you achieve your dream job. You will cover subjects ranging from customer service and geography through to retail and events., , There are core units spanning the UK travel and tourism sector, destinations, customer experience, international travel and factors affecting travel. You can study additional specialist units including marketing in travel and tourism, airports and airlines, employment opportunities, organising a study visit, promotions and sales in travel and tourism, and UK visitor attractions., , On completion of the course, you may wish to seek employment or progress to a Level 5 course. Or you may choose to start an apprenticeship in a variety of areas. Possible career outcomes for this course are event management, travel agency, hotel work and job roles within the cruising sector.,

Entry requirements Along with an interest in travel and tourism, you will require one of the following qualifications to enrol on this Level 5 HND course:, 2x GCE A Levels (A* - C grades), BTEC Level 3 qualification (Merit profile), Access to Higher Education Certificate, , All applicants will require an initial assessment and interview by a member of the lecturing team., , If you currently do not hold any of the above qualifications, but have wide ranging and relevant experience in the hospitality or tourism industries then, subject to interview, there may be enrolment upon the course. In other situations where the above qualifications are not held, the College may be able to offer you an alternative full-time course or apprenticeship to support future progression onto this HND programme., 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method The HND in Travel and Tourism Management is assessed continuously through a range of assignments, projects, group projects, workshops and formative tasks.
