Description
This course is designed to help you to communicate and understand Turkish at a basic level. It will give you a good idea of 'how Turkish works' and help you get more enjoyment from your holiday. It will also teach you a little about the culture of the Turkish people.
Course Content
At the end of this course, you should be able to:
- greet people
- Introduce yourself and members of your family
- ask and answer basic questions
- make requests
- ask for and give directions
- ask for and buy things in shops
- order things in a restaurant
- have a basic understanding of Turkish grammar
- use set phrases used by speakers of Turkish
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
No formal assessment. Informal roleplays, question & answers. Classwork will include a mixture of tasks using all skill aspects of the language.

Progression
After completing a beginners language course, you may want to consider continuing on a termly basis at beginners level or progressing to an intermediate level.
Materials
Just a pen and a notebook.
