Overview
If you are interested in exploring the world of Art and Design, you will gain experience of the materials, methods and processes of an artist or designer. By completing this UAL approved qualification you will gain technical and theoretical skills in drawing, printmaking, painting, graphics, photography and 3D. With more emphasis on art and design history, art experimentation and how to train and work in the Industry, this course will help you start your creative journey.

Entry Requirements
You will need four GCSE’s at D or equivalent (preferably to include English and maths) or Level 1 qualification in Art and Design at merit or a related vocational area. You will be asked to attend a skills and screening workshop and attend an interview with a portfolio of work, related work experience or other level 1 or 2 qualifications.

Course Duration
One year, full time.

Skills and Benefits
This course will help you to develop a range of different artistic skills, which will help you decide which direction you would like to consider as a future career. From this course, you will be able to progress onto a number of different Creative Industry qualifications at Level 3 - subject to entry enquirements.

Course Assessment
Units 1 - 9 of the Diploma in Art & Design will be internally assessed and internally moderated against the assessment criteria for those units.

Progression
Level 3 UAL 90 Credit Diploma in Art and Design or other Creative qualifications at Level 3.
