Do you dream of being a fashion designer? Are you always looking at the next trends and catwalk shows? The Level 3 in Fashion & Clothing will give you the specialist skills to become part of the expanding British Fashion Industry. You will practice industry standard techniques in pattern cutting, garment production and CAD (Computer Aided Design). You will be taught a wide range of skills essential for the design and production of fashion. You will also develop a professional understanding of the fashion industry through taking part in fashion shows and photo shoots. You will develop these skills through a variety of lectures, workshops and live projects with retailers and fashion designers in the Midlands.

Course programme

Entry Requirements

You will be required to have either a full level 2 qualification in Fashion & Clothing at a Merit or 4 GCSE's grade A-C, including Textiles and/or Art. You must have, or be working towards a level 1 qualification or GCSE's grade C or above in maths and English.

Delivery and Assessment

All assessment is via coursework based projects. A variety of in-class teaching and assessment methods will be used such as observations, presentations, the assessment of: sketchbooks and mood boards. The course is mostly visual and practical but does include some theory based written work. You will also complete an element of 'real' working experience through work placements and/or 'live' project briefs.

Progression

You can progress to a level 4 course. This can then lead to a degree course/ HND in Fashion or into industry as an apprentice or junior fashion assistant.
