2. Course description This practical course focuses on performance classes providing the opportunity to develop a range of skills needed for employment in the theatre industry. Good links with local and national production companies, performance venues and theatre organisations provide valuable opportunities for learning and future employment.These exciting new qualifications are validated by the University of Arts, London, and are tailor made to meet the demands of the theatre and performance industries. The qualification provides students with a chance to explore their talent and test their creativity and ambition in a broad range of performing and production arts skills.This certificate will be awarded by UAL (which includes the prestigious colleges of Central St Martins, and Camberwell College of Arts). Wirral Met College has been approved to deliver this qualification by UAL.

Entry requirements Priority will be given to 16-18 year olds. -Level 1 qualification plus ability to demonstrate working at Level 1 English and maths or 3 GCSEs or more at Grade D (including English & maths) -Satisfactory interview and satisfactory reference. School report. -Students will be required to demonstrate a keen interest in the subject area. - An audition is part of the interview process. If English is not your first language, you may need an assessment before enrolling on this course. To discuss further, please contact the ESOL department on 0151 551 7144. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method All coursework is internally assessed regularly and externally verified annually. There is no exam. All students aged 16-19 must study GCSE English or Maths if they have not already achieved a grade C.
