All applications must be made through UCAS. Learners who successfully complete a Personal Statement will attend a regional interview. Grades BBB at A level or equivalent and GCSE English and Maths Grade A-C is also required. Refer to general entry requirements.

Course programme

Learners are assessed by a range of assessment strategies including assignments, presentations, logbooks, examinations, group work, role plays, Learners reflections and competence in professional practice.

The BSc Hons in Social Work is a full time Honours Degree and professional qualification for those who wish to become a qualified Social Worker.


Learners will undertake the first two years of their Social Work degree at South West College, Dungannon campus. In third year Learners transfer to Ulster University, Magee Campus. Following this, Learners can progress into employment in social work and complete their Assessed Year in Employment to become a fully qualified Social Worker.
