The Understanding Safeguarding Children - Level 3 Course provides the basic knowledge students will need of the legislative framework and the assessment and care proceeding steps. Successful completion of the course provides students wishing to become social workers, teachers, doctors, nurses, childminders and any others who come into contact with children and their families, the underpinning knowledge they need to ensure the child’s welfare is paramount.

About this course
After studying this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate their understanding of legislation relating to safeguarding children.
Understand the assessment process.
Demonstrate their ability to apply theory to their practical work with service users.
Identify issues which could lead to child protection measures being taken.
Discuss what steps should be taken when a child’s safety and wellbeing is in question.
Evaluate the effectiveness of legislation and proceedings drawing on conclusions from previous cases.
On successful completion of the course students will receive an accredited Level 3 Certificate of achievement.
