Safeguarding Children provides an outline of the relevant legislation relating to children, the reasons why a child may become known to social services or other agencies, and the steps that may be taken to ensure the child’s welfare and wellbeing needs are met. Case studies from real life events are used to provide students with an example of the kinds of issues facing those working in this challenging area .The course further discusses the communication techniques it is important for practitioners to have grasped before beginning work with service users.
Successful completion of the course provides students wishing to become social workers, teachers, doctors, nurses, childminders and any others who come into contact with children and their families,with the underpinning knowledge they need to ensure the child’s welfare is paramount.
