Why study BA(Hons) Uniformed and Public Services?
The uniformed and public services play a vital role in the welfare and safety of people at home and abroad, on the front-line and behind the scenes. But to function well, the sector needs skilled professionals who understand key issues and are able to make rapid, well-informed decisions.
Why study our course?
This one-year course will enable you to top-up your Foundation to an honours degree. It is designed to provide a strategic understanding of public services and equip you with the right knowledge and skills for a successful career in those fields.
Real world experience
The course has been developed alongside key employers, including Avon and Somerset Constabulary, Her Majesty's Prison Service, Customs and Excise and local authorities. These provide insight, training facilities and volunteering opportunities. The course incorporates work-based learning so you can apply what you've learned. You will also go on field trips to find out more about public services issues, test your skills and challenge yourself in team building exercises.
Where it can take you
On graduation, you will be equipped to go into a career in the public services. This could be working for the police force, armed forces, fire services or local authorities.
