Course Content

· Review of the professional values and practice for effective mentoring
· The stages in developing a mentoring relationship

· Reflection on personal mentoring skills and ways of continuing professional development in the role

Method of Assessment

Formally assessed pieces of work are:
· The production of a personal learning plan
· A reflective learning log (2000 words)
· A mentee File
· A Case Study (1500 words)

Progression

In addition to being a stand-alone continuing professional development programme for those in a mentoring role, this programme also constitutes the second level of degree study and may be used to build credit towards a Bachelor of Arts degree with honours
