Course Overview:
Our new upholstery course offers you the chance to finally get round to upgrading that chair you’ve saved from the charity shop.

Over five days you’ll work on your own project – and learn techniques for either modern or traditional upholstery, depending on the type of chair you want to work on.

Upholstery is definitely quite slow-going, but you should be able to get either a small armchair, drop-in chair or footstool completed within five days.

Course Content:
Our new upholstery course offers you the chance to finally get round to upgrading that chair you’ve rescued from the charity shop!

Over five days you’ll work on your own project – and learn techniques for either modern or traditional upholstery, depending on the type of chair you want to work on. You will learn how to accurately take measurements of your chair and make a pattern, strip your chair, treat the wood, make up new padding and stuffing, and learn upholstery stitching techniques to ensure your new fabric stands the test of time and looks great on your chair.

Upholstery, especially traditional, is quite slow-going, but you should be able to get either a small armchair, drop-in chair or footstool completed within five days.

If you need advice on what type of chair to bring in, please email us at , or alternatively you can email us a photo of your chosen project to check it is suitable.
