Course programme

Year 1

You will learn upholstery skills and techniques by transforming a small piece of furniture from your home. Footstools, blanket boxes, dining room chair seats etc are ideal pieces to upcycle. You will be guided through every step, including the amount of fabric you will need to purchase to complete the project.
If you already have some experience of upholstery you can develop your existing skills and learn more advanced techniques in both modern and traditional upholstery.
You’ll also learn skills which will save money such as making your own curtains, cushion covers, runners, bed throws, blinds etc. You will be supported to plan your own project, including the materials needed and styles best suited to your needs.

Additional information

There are no exams or formal assessments. You will receive a College certificate on completion.
