Upholstery Level 1

Course Aims:
To develop skills within upholstery.

Course Content:
The students will be required to perform a sequence of tasks in the form of samples. Each task will develop its level of skill, culminating in the proper construction of an upholstered artefact. This will be decided later in the course, ability and choice being the deciding factors. It may be possible to complete two items.

There are a wide range of Art & Design courses offered in the Faculty.

Exam:
Assessment is informal and ongoing. Students will produce a portfolio of work showing completion/evidence of three mandatory units which are assessed by the tutor and verified by an external NCFE moderator. As an integral part of the course all students will be expected to complete a workbook evidencing competence in the assessment criteria.

Qualification:
NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Creative Craft (Upholstery)

60 Guided Learning Hours (Typically over 20-30 weeks per year depending on location)
