What are the main features of this course?
The first year is the AS course which consists of 2 units (Spoken Expression and Response in Urdu and Understanding and Written response in Urdu).The second year completes the A level with 2 further units (Understanding and Spoken response in Urdu and Research and Written response in Urdu).
The aims of the course are:
1. to develop a high level of communication skills;
2. to develop awareness of various aspects of societies in which the language is spoken;
3. to develop study skills as a preparation for the world of work, further study, training or leisure;
4. to be enjoyable, interesting and relevant to the needs of students.

The course assessment involves an external examination for each unit at the end of each year (June).
