Course programme
This course arose from a need to provide an in depth Use Case Analysis workshop for a major avionics system application in which the contractor had to produce a very detailed use case analysis and be able to show a clear trail between the use case analysis and the deliverable system software.
An interesting side effect of the development of the use case analysis methodology was that the system developer's customer realised the use case analysis approaches could also be used in the context of "mission planning".
Although this course covers all aspects of Use Case Analysis it must be considered as a "tailorable course". Typically the workshop materials are tailored and extended to the customer's specific needs.
Variations of this course have also included bringing SysML into the methodology e.g. where the project being worked on has a strong element of hardware analysis and design as well and it is necessary to intergrate both the software and hardware development efforts
Variations that include strategies for managing complexity e.g. use of Peter Checkland's Soft Systems approach have also been discussed, as have variations covering the Use Case Analysis methodology as a "Mission Planning" methodology.
