ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Internal verification candidates wishing to undertake NVQ internal verifier's training must be attached to, or accepted as an internal verifier candidate, by an organisation which is delivering NVQ qualifications in a relevant vocational area. This is essential as internal verification candidates must have all their internal verification decisions countersigned by a qualified internal verifier, and be able to attend NVQ course team and standardisation meetings. Internal verification candidates will need to provide written evidence that they have been accepted by an organisation which is delivering NVQ qualifications as an internal verification candidate before being enrolled on the V1 Internal Verifier's Award.

Internal verification candidates must have been a registered NVQ assessor for at least two years and have a vocational qualification and current vocational/professional experience which is acceptable to NVQ awarding bodies, to ensure that successful V1 Internal Verifier candidates can be registered as a NVQ Internal Verifier.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
The V1 Internal Verifier's Award allows individuals with at least two year's experience of NVQ assessing relevant vocational qualifications and current vocational experience to train as NVQ internal verifiers in their own area of vocational expertise.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
With your college V1 assessor's and your organisational countersigning internal verifier help and guidance, you will take responsibility for preparing a portfolio which will provide evidence that you are able to internally verify NVQ assessors in your area of vocational expertise and implement national and awarding body quality assurance procedures for NVQ programmes. Your college V1 assessor and your organisational countersigning internal verifier are responsible for helping you identify opportunities to prove your competence and produce evidence that your work matches the appropriate NVQ standards.

HOW WILL I LEARN?
Your college V1 assessor will meet you for tutorials to monitor and guide your portfolio of evidence building. It will also be necessary for either the course external verifier or an independent internal verifier to observe you carrying out your internal verifier duties.

Your organisational countersigning internal verifier will also ensure that
  • You are able to use the organisation's internal verification documentation correctly
  • You attend course team and standardisation meetings
  • You are internal verifying correctly to the NVQ national standards
  • You are able to implement the quality assurance procedures for NVQ courses to meet national and awarding body requirements.
