Returning students must have a Level 1 qualification in Motor Vehicle.

This course is for school leavers or adults interested in motor vehicle maintenance and repair.
Successful students tend to have:
- An excellent working knowledge of motor vehicles and possible faults.
- Good communication skills.
- To keep up to date with new technology.
- Willingness to learn on the job and pay attention to their manager.
- To be interested in cars and electronic equipment.
Course Content
This course consists of seven core units plus one other unit:
- Contribute to Workplace Good Housekeeping.
- Ensure your Own Actions reduce risks to Health and Safety.
- Maintain Positive Working Relationships.
- Carry out Routine Vehicle Maintenance.
- Remove and Replace Light Vehicle Engine Units and Components.
- Remove and Replace Light Vehicle Auxiliary Electrical Units and Components.
- Remove and Replace Light Vehicle Chassis Units and Components.
Entry RequirementsLearning & Assessment Methods
Students will be assessed by doing practical jobs on cars and completing a logbook of work plus successful completion of e-examinations.
