Course programme
This course is designed for students who have already completed the Level 1 Maintenance and repair course and wish to continue their motor vehicle studies on a full time basis, to enhance their skills and knowledge. This course runs two and half days a week.

Fuel and Exhaust Systems
Functional Skills or GCSE in Maths and English
What qualifications will I get?City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate
We will give you the opportunity to improve your English and Mathematics skills up to GCSE standard - depending on your individual needs.
The units listed previously are all assessed practically and will require each learner to produce a logbook/portfolio of evidence. In addition to this theoretical assessments.
Balance of theory and practical
Functional Skills will also be delivered and assessed during the course.
50% practical and 50% theory.

What are the entry requirements?Minimum qualifications: Level 1
Minimum Level 1 or equivalent. Students must have a minimum of GCSE Grade D or above in Maths and English
What else do I need to know?We will offer you an exciting and personalised study programme wherever possible, so you get the learning experience and support you need to help meet your ambitions.
This course runs two and half days a week, in order to provide students with the opportunity to seek appropriate motor vehicle work experience whilst studying at the College.
English and Maths
English and maths qualifications are vitally important for future employers and universities, so the government has made it a priority for students to improve these skills.
Entry Level / Level 1 and Level 2: We’re here to help you on your journey, so if you do not achieve grade A*-C in GCSE English and/or maths, then you will study English and/or maths as part of your college course.
Students who achieve a D grade will be placed on the relevant GCSE programme, while students who achieve an E or below will be assessed to ensure they are placed on the right study programme for their ability.
Level 3 programmes: You will need to meet the course entry requirements specified on the course information above. For the majority of our Level 3 courses, students will need grade A*-C in GCSE English and/or maths. If this is not specified in the course entry requirement, then you may be able to study English and/or maths as part of your college course.
What can I do after this course?If you are successful on this course you will be able to find employment in vehicle maintenance and repair as an apprentice and continue studying towards your Level 3
