Veterinary Medicine

The BVetMed is a full-time 5 year undergraduate degree programme. As well as learning the latest theory and practice, you can expect plenty of practical ‘hands on’ experience, taught by leading experts in their field. The result is a unique degree course that will equip you for life for a range of veterinary careers.

Entry Requirements

We look at three areas when deciding whether to invite an applicant to interview:

  • Birkbeck College's CertHE in Life Sciences
  • BTEC National Diploma in Animal Management
  • Cambridge Pre-U
  • International Baccalaureate
  • Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers
  • Welsh Baccalaureate
  • GCSE- only in addition to other qualifications
  • Irish Leaving Certificate
  • UCL University Preparatory Certificate for Science and Engineering
  • International and EU applicants (excluding North America)
  • North American applicants
  • Graduate Applicants
  • Other
• Work experience (in veterinary practice and with animals)
• The Bio-medical Admissions Test (BMAT)

All three areas are important and are used in our selection process to determine who will be invited to interview. Our admissions tutors consider all applications carefully on their individual merits. Conditional offers made to successful candidates may vary depending on performance at interview.
