Course review:
This course runs over 4 days however this can be tailored to individual requirements. It is aimed for the stylist who requires the knowledge in the art of styling hair for a period/era/vintage.
You will learn how to design and style hair for various types of productions ie the 1700s 1920 and so on. The use of wigs and hairpieces are included in this course which can be an integral part of any production, developing the character as seen by the audience.
You will learn how to research period designs understand the requirements to produce a design.
On this course, you will learn how to use heated appliances (hairdryers, heated rollers, tongs, heated bendies, crimpers, straightening irons and
conical wand)
How to set (using rollers, bendies, Velcro & wet
sets)
Understand how to work with different hair types:
Fine, thick, curly, dry, damaged,
greasy, treated & extensions.
How to work with wigs, hair pieces, toupees switches.
Measuring for a wig & sizing.
Tools, equipment & products.
Blocking wigs and cleaning,
Wrapping hair & banding hair.
Wig application, removal, care, setting & dressing
Lace edge wigs.
