Visual Arts BTEC Award Level 3

About the course:
This new and exciting course is being introduced for the first time this year. The course offers the opportunity to specialise in the wide area of Fine Art. Working within the Visual Arts industry is challenging and rewarding and changing all the time.

City College, with its new and extensive studios is the ideal college at which to study. All staff are practising specialists in their own field and highly qualified to teach using the specialist workshops and large spacious studios.

Success Story:
Students can progress to Full time courses in Art & Design.

Course Content:
All students study 2 units over the 1 yr part time course, which will include specialist areas of study and will cover visual recording, drawing, mark making and experimentation with other materials.

Learning Style:
Classes take place in specifically designed studios and involve a range of activities including group and individual work.

Assignments are exciting and are designed to prepare the student for life after college be that at University or in Industry.

Equipment Requirements:
Students may purchase a range of basic Art Equipment from the college at cost price. A detailed list with prices will be issued on enrolment.

Assessment:
This program is assessed through coursework and submission of all units required. This will in a few instances require written work but the course is substantially practical based work.
