VM for Operators

Overview
This course is designed to give attendees background information regarding the concepts and structure of the VM operating system and familiarity with base facilities of both CP and CMS. It will also cover operating procedures and basic operator commands, enabling the attendee to effectively control a VM operating system.

Course objectives
Upon completion of this course the attendee should be able to operate and control a VM environment, and will have gained a thorough grounding in CP fundamentals.

By the end of this course you will have learned
To identify the names and functions of the main components of VM. How CP manages users and hardware. How CMS works. How to IPL and terminate VM. How to display system activity, manage users and I/O devices, and control spool files. How to use DDR and DSF.
