Introduction:
The VTCT level 2 Diploma in Complementary Therapy will provide you with the skills to communicate with the client and enable you to plan and give basic complementary treatments. During the course you will gain a knowledge of anatomy and physiology, consultation of techniques and the common effect and technique of massage, aromatherapy and reflexology in order to provide basic treatments to the head and face, hands and forearms and the feet and lower legs.

One year course starting on the 7th September 2009.

The units you will study are as follows:

Basic Aromatherapy Techniques

Basic Reflexology Techniques

Introduction to Clinical Services and Business

Awareness of Complementary Therapies

Introduction to Principles and practice for complementary Therapies

Health, Safety and Hygiene for Complementary Therapies

Introduction to Health and Wellbeing within Complementary Therapies

Anatomy and Physiology for complementary Therapies

Provide basic Massage Techniques for the complementary Therapies.

Assessment:
All units are internally assessed by observation and questioning of students undertaking practical work. There will be assignment work to go alongside the practical salons where students will show competence in research and modes of study.

Qualification:
This is an intermediate level course. The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Complementary Therapy is a vocationally related qualification (VRQ) at level 2 on the qualifications credit framework.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
This qualification is appropriate for learners wishing to start on a career in the complementary therapy industry.

Additional Costs:
Uniform is required and is £42.00, plus general Stationary.

You may need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser before enrolling on this course.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
