Is it for me?
Yes if you would like to advance your skills of nail enhancements, to cover all systems and learn advanced nail art and competition techniques.
What do I need?
Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology (eg VTCT or city and guilds) and a good record of attendance and reference from your previous course.
A uniform and kit are required for this course. You will be given costs and order forms on commencement of the programme (grants and loans may be available to help with the cost of uniforms and kit).
What will I study?

• health, safety, and security in the workplace
• promotion of additional products and services in the salon
• financial effectiveness of the business
• enhancement of nails using artificial nail systems, acrylic, gel and wraps, sculpting and tips
• maintenance, repair and enhancement of artificial nail structures, including camouflage work
• planning, designing and creating nail art services to include coloured and glitter work, airbrushing and 3D
• designing and creating images using nail art techniques, to include themes, commercial and photographic
• provision of self tanning treatments

Where will I study?
Baltic Campus
You'll be based at our fantastic £39million Baltic campus on the quayside. The campus has a prime location on Gateshead quayside, and state-of-the-art facilities including a Jacuzzi, gym and sauna, a 200 seat theatre, state-of-the-art classrooms, training kitchen and restaurant, refectory, bistro and vending areas.
How will I be assessed?
You will be continually assessed in both practical and theory work, throughout your course. You will build a portfolio of work to support your learning.
How will I be taught?
You will develop your skills within a realistic environment provided through our superbly equipped salons, and will be taught by a very experienced team of lecturers.
What qualification will I get?
VTCT NVQ Level 3 in Nail Services.
Can I go onto further study?
You could broaden your portfolio of qualifications, and increase your employability by progressing onto other Beauty or Holistic courses we have on offer here at the college.
What are the career opportunities?
On successful completion of the course you could seek employment within the beauty industry, within salons, health spas, and cruise ships.
