Web Page Creation Using Dreamweaver

What is the Web Page Creation course?
This course is suitable for absolute beginners to web design and Dreamweaver. It will give you the ability to create your own website using the features and facilities of the Macromedia Dreamweaver Studio 8 package.

Course topics

• Create web pages from existing and new source material
• Use template images and formatting to create a consistent -house style.Create forms and e-mail linkUse META tags to define content
• Set dimensions alignment and other attributes of page items
• Use tables, layers and templates to control the page layout
• Use style sheets to control the appearance of text
• Add behaviours to control dynamic and interactive content
• Use hit counters, search engines and other interactive content
• Add sound and animation to web pages

Teaching and Learning
You will work through a series of structured exercises using a prepared set of resources to build an example website. This will allow you to develop skills and techniques, which can then be applied to a website of your own design.

During each lesson there will be time to apply the techniques learned to develop your own website with the opportunity for one-to-one support.

Course notes and materials are available on-line allowing further practice at home.

The course is progressive, building from week to week, using basic skills and techniques in different ways to reinforce learning and developing new skills in a logical manner.

There is no formal assessment with this course.

Notes

Extra costs : USB memory stick, writing materials, notebook and a copy of Dreamweaver. Studio 8 web authoring package. Much of the teaching material for this course is based upon exercises from the text book. Students may wish to purchase Dream weaver- MX2004 Right from the Start- ISBN1904467806, published by Payne Gallway. This is not essential but it does provide additional support materials, and can be very helpful in providing guided self-study.
