Course programme

Course Content:
This 10 week course introduces you to the principles of web design as well as using the basic technical skills to get started with producing a website.

The topics covered are:
The principles of web design
Domain names and hosting (uploading) a website
An introduction to the NEW HTML 5 programming language
Introduction to Dreamweaver and it?s environment
Layout and create a simple web page structure
Add images and text to a webpage
Create links to email and linking web pages
Learn how to style a webpage in CSS (styling language)
Using the home page as a template
Making your first website

The last 3 weeks of the course will include Workshop time so that you can work individually with tutor support on your own project.
Assessment Methods:
Assessment is ongoing. You will complete classroom exercises which will inform you and the tutor of your progress.
The college uses a virtual learning environment (Moodle) which allows enrolled students to access the training materials remotely via the student intranet and an internet connection.
