The weekend courses are highly enjoyable as well as useful. They are an intensive course suited to those wanting to find employment in these competitive industries or those considering their own business. The essential ‘kick start’ to a career change, or refresher course. The taught course takes place over 2 consecutive days, usually a weekend from 10am – 6.00pm Saturday and 9.30-4.30pm on Sunday (see enrolment form or .uk/coursedates.html for forthcoming dates and venues). We strive to keep class sizes very small, always between 2 and 12 trainees so that the regional market is not flooded and students receive maximum benefit. We welcome staff and partners to attend and offer reduced prices for multiple bookings. The course includes all teaching, resources, room hire, a frameable certificate, lunch and refreshments both days. Trainees may use their course tutor as a referee and may show the recognised certificate to future employers and customers. The certificate acts as an indication of your core competence and the support facilities you have available to you while you build up your portfolio of experience. Candidates should be aware that this is a genuine qualification and as such we reserve the right to fail students who do not meet the standards of the course. Assessment is continuous and based on interactions with your tutor, common sense and quick thinking displayed in class. A short quiz will make up 10% of the mark. Students may specify which topics they wish to focus on and extra time will be allocated to those areas where possible. At the end of Day 1, students will be asked to complete a brief evaluation which is a chance to influence the content or teaching style of day 2.

On The Wedding Planner School
  • Provider description
  • The Wedding Planner School is the UK and Europe's leading Wedding Planning & Events Management training institute. We provide a mixture of taught courses, one-to-one training and home study courses to suit everyone's lifestyle. All tutors are highly successful ex-professional wedding or event managers with years of experience.Approximately 50% of our students are based outside the UK.
  • Advantages of studying with The Wedding Planner School
  • The course is written specifically for the UK and European market, it is not American and therefore reflects the nature of your local wedding culture. For those studying from outside the UK or from other cultures, we encourage you to bring elements of your own expeeince to your studies to further enrich the experience. The Wedding Planner School is an internationally recognised and established organisation, with options to study in Italy and Spain as well as the UK.We offer work experience opportunities to all our students and graduates.Reviews given independently by our graduates show an overwhelming satisfaction rate and we will do anything it takes to ensure you have an enjoyable and useful experience with us, whatever your course.
  • Course provider history
  • In the 1990s many people set up home businesses as wedding planners and event managers but failed to make them profitable because they didn't have the focus, experience or guidance needed to make a success of this unique business. There were also many individuals doing a bad job and putting the whole industry's reputation at risk. Just because someone can plan their own wedding does not mean they will be a good wedding planner for somebody else. The Wedding Planner School was set up to give those who do start in the industry good advice and to provide a benchmark of quality that all wedding planners and event managers must work to. This includes private sole-trading companies and those employed by other event related organisations. These diploma schemes are useful for those businesses which have been running unprofitably for some time.
