About this Course

The programme is City & Guilds accredited. Level 1 and 2 are currently offered depending on experience. All welds are tested to BS4872 (Industry Standard). The programme consists of a 2 hour practical session lasting 30 weeks.

Course programme

What will I study?
A choice of TIG welding processes in mild /low carbon steels can be undertaken. You will gain good/competent practical skills and develop a sound level of understanding/knowledge.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be through practical tasks – 4 fully tested, welded test pieces in different positions and a question/answer session with the tutor.

What added value will I receive?
All tutors delivering the programme are Industry trained and are fully qualified specialists with many years of experience. The workshop is fitted with the latest industry standard welding equipment/machinery/tools.

What can I progress to?
Progression is from Level 1 in the first year to Level 2. Alternatively, the learner may decide to study a different process at level 1. This qualification is ideal for someone who is considering a career in the Welding/Fabrication industry or for developing basic welding skills.
