What's it all about?:
Do you need to brush up on your knowledge of alcoholic beverages? Or are you a wine buff who wants to learn more about wines and spirits and get a qualification? Our course will give you a comprehensive look at the wines and spirits of the world. You will learn wine and spirits are produced, graded, labelled and stored. Plus we will teach you how to properly taste wine so you'll be able to explain to customers, (or your friends) the merits or otherwise of the drinks you can offer.

Progression:
Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress onto a higher level course or establish a career in the wine and spirit trade, licensed trade or the hotel industry.
Entry Requirements:
In our experience in order to be successful on this level of course you will need one of the following:
· four GCSEs at grades D-F (including English and maths)
· a BTEC foundation diploma in a related subject
· an NVQ level 1/technical certificate in a related subject
· successful completion of the Jumpstart programme
· successful completion of the E2E/Prince's Trust programme
· equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.
You should ideally be working in the industry or have a keen interest in the subject.
Duration: Four weeks

What does the course involve?:
This short course provides a basic knowledge of the range of alcoholic beverages, their production, storage and labelling as required by the wine and spirit trade.
The next course will run on Mondays 2, 9 and 16 February, and 2 March

Four days, 9.30am - 4.30pm
Are there any exams?:
Your assessment will include a multiple choice test on completion of the course.
