Overview

This is ideal if you are already working as a joiner or want to start your career in the industry.

Entry Requirements
You must have 2 GCSE grades D or above in English and maths, however each application will be looked at on an individual bases. You will also need to be employed within the industry.

Course Duration
2 years.

Skills and Benefits
You will achieve an NVQ/QFC Level 2 in Site joinery & Level 2 Diploma in Site Joinery. Please note: If you choose to continue onto the Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 you will achieve an NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Site Joinery & Level 3 Diploma in Site Joinery.

Mandatory Units
NVQ Level 2 units include: Conform to general workplace safety. Conform to productive working practices in the workplace. Move and handle resources. Install first fixing. Install second fixing. Erect structural carcassing components. Maintaining non-structural carcassing components in the workplace. Level 2 Diploma in Site Joinery units include: Information, quantities and communication. Carry out safe working practices. Building methods and construction. Set up and use a circular saw. Carry out first fixing operations. Carry out second fix operations. Erect structural carcassing. Carry out maintenance operations

Course Assessment
You will complete assignments that will relate theory to practice. You will also collect evidence from the work place and report this in our site diary.

Progression
After completion of an Apprenticeship Level 2 you could progress to NVQ level 3 Wood Occupations (Site Joinery) NVQ level 3 Wood Occupations (Site Joinery) and a Higher National Certificate (HNC).
