Working at Height
WORKING AT HEIGHT Entry Requirements
This course will suit people who currently work at height, or are planning to in the future.
Description
Working at height is an essential part of many jobs including window cleaning, maintenance of air conditioning units, CCTV and other electrical equipment as well as construction work. Falls from height continue to be the most common cause of serious injuries and fatalities to employees, but experience shows that falls usually occur as a result of poor training and management. This course is designed to provide employers, employees, designers and those responsible for work at height with an understanding of the risks and the required knowledge to ensure that work at any height can be planned and carried out safely.
Course Content
· What is work at height?
· Legal obligations including duty to protect temporary workers and non-employees
· Assessing the risks
· Permits to work
· Selection of equipment based on HSE's hierarchy of control
· Inspection of equipment
· Record keeping and documentation
· Planning issues
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
